All Albertans can now download their COVID QR vaccine record or vaccine passport in a few steps. Chaparral Pharmacy – Remedy’sRx is pleased to explain how to download your QR code in those five easy steps:
1- You will need your Alberta Health Card Number (no need to enter the dashes in the number, it will be automatically inserted), Date of Birth (put your DOB in YYYY-MM-DD and don’t forget the dashes here or press the calendar icon and select your DOB), Month and Year of any of the COVID-19 vaccine doses you already got.
2- Go to covidrecords.alberta.ca/home and press the GET STARTED button.
3- Enter your information from step 1. Then tick the “I’m not a robot” checkbox and press CONTINUE.
4- The website will be updated, and your QR code, Name, and Birth date will appear.
5- Depending on your device, you will find different options (e.g. SAVE OR PRINT OFFICIAL RECORD) to save or print your QR code on your device. You can save it on your phone by opening the pop-up webpage of your QR code in any pdf reader app on your android or iOS phone. You can also take a screenshot of the whole QR code page and save it to your device.
Health Canada and the vaccines manufacturers updated the names of the COVID-19 vaccines. So Pfizer’s new name is Comirnaty, Moderna is Spikevax, and AstraZeneca is Vaxzevria. Both Pfizer/Comirnaty and Moderna/Spikevax are mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) vaccines. At the same time, AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria is a vaccine that is based on a modified adenovirus that is similar to the viruses causing colds or flu.
