Flu – or Influenza – shots and immunization will be available at Chaparral Compounding Pharmacy in Calgary on Monday, October 17, 2022.
If you are a Canadian living in southeast Calgary, Alberta, just bring your personal Alberta health card to the pharmacy to get your flu shot.
You are totally covered by your health card!
Flu shots are available at our pharmacy for ** 5 years of age or older Albertans.
**Per the AHS, adults can get their flu shot with any COVID-19 vaccine or booster at the same time or within a few days, up to their preferences! Kids 5 to 11 must wait 14 days between the flu shot and any COVID-19 vaccine or booster.
If you cannot make it to Chaparral Compounding Pharmacy on October 17, you can also come after that date till the end of winter 2023 (although it is recommended to get the shot at the beginning for more effective immunity).

You can also show proof of Alberta residency to get the flu shot or vaccine. So either a health care card, driver’s license, or birth certificate are all acceptable forms of proof of residency and eligibility in Alberta.
The flu shots are available for walk-ins at our location in southeast Calgary at 210 – 10 Chaparral Drive SE, Calgary T2X 3R7.

Normally, the flu shot or immunization protects against the two main strains of influenza A and B. Some examples of influenza A and B strains are:
-A/H1N1
-A/H3N2
-B/Victoria
-B/Yamagata
